Assessment Disclosure Notice Class Two and Class Four (Please note this is not a tax bill)
|
New York Real Property Tax Law §511 requires an assessing unit such as Nassau County to issue assessment disclosure notices when it undertakes a reassessment. The County has reassessed properties for the first time since 2011 and is sharing with you this notice of the tentative assessment for your property referenced above for the 2020/2021 tax year.
Below you will find the County's determination of your property's market value, level of assessment, tentative assessment and tentative transitional assessment. Under New York State law, the County elected to represent assessments as a percentage of market value using a uniform level of assessment.
Your tentative assessment has been calculated by multiplying your market value by the uniform level of assessment. Your tentative transitional assessment reflects the requirement of New York Real Property Tax Law ยง1855 that assessment increases on the County assessment roll be phased in over a five-year period. Your transitional assessment is used to calculate your property taxes.
